What are you doing on Heritage Day?
Join us on Tuesday, February 22 in virtual celebration of Heritage Day, organized by Capital Heritage Connexion in partnership with the City of Ottawa Cultural and Heritage Programs Branch, in celebration of this year's theme "Growing from our roots -- our heritage and histories."
Our collective history is told in our languages and our music, in photographs, documents, objects and traditions, and in our built environment. As lockdowns and physical distancing measures have continued during the past year, Ottawa’s heritage community has been there to engage and inspire us to connect with our heritage and histories.
More on offer during Heritage Week!
The entire week of February 21 to 25 is Heritage Week!
Join us on Wednesday, February 23 on Zoom for Heritage Ottawa's special PHILLIPS MEMORIAL LECTURE: Pluriverse Rising: Indigenous Design with Wanda Dalla Costa, architect and member of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation. The event is FREE and Preregistration is required.
Heritage Ottawa has also curated a collection of links to Virtual Tours of museums, galleries, historic sites and other cultural centres, along with an interesting collection of Lectures + Films that are FREE to stream online. Search EXPLORE on our main menu to discover these and other resources.
Also on our website, discover Ottawa's history and heritage through 50 Years | 50 Stories, a special project telling the illustrated stories of 50 places that Heritage Ottawa helped to save during our first 50 years of advocacy efforts.
